If you’ve made it this far, you probably have two questions:

1) What is a blog?

and

2) How can a blog benefit me?

A blog is a section of your website that you’ll update with content weekly or, ideally, multiple times per week. This content is written in a conversational style on topics that will appeal to everyday readers.

In the real estate industry, you can use your blog to explore neighborhoods around town, profile local businesses, look at nearby attractions, give employee profiles, provide local history information or pretty much anything else you desire.

Your blog is a method of communicating directly with clients and leads, encouraging interaction at the same time.

Speaking of interaction, perhaps the most useful aspect of a blog is that you can share all of your posts on social media. Your Facebook and Twitter pages will share these posts and if they’re well written, your social media followers will share them, as well, creating an avalanche of free, recurring advertising after every article.

Don’t believe me? Let’s look at the numbers:

According to the NAR, about 44% of all homebuyers begin their search online. In addition, 90% of baby boomers and 99% of millennials use the internet at some point during their search.

Almost everyone who is buying a home nowadays will use the internet at some point during the process.

The critical thing to remember about this information is that 87% of all buyers use a real estate agent to finalize the purchase of the home, but only 33% of buyers find the home that they end up buying directly through an agent.

Where do they find these homes? Well, hopefully, on your website.

The gist is that buyers are still using real estate agents, but aren’t relying on them to do the grunt work.

Buyers are busy and they want to research potential homes online before making the decision to view the home in person.

But does blogging work?

Yes, blogging works.

OK, that might not be convincing enough, so let’s dig deeper into the statistics.

Companies that blog report generating 55% more visitors to their websites than companies that completely ignore the platform.

That’s absolutely huge!

If you’re able to generate 55% more traffic to your website than your competitors, your slice of the 94%-of-customers-using-the-internet pie will grow exponentially. It means thousands of additional interested buyers and sellers seeing your listings or at least being made aware of your existence for when the time is right.

Websites that blog also receive 97% more inbound links.

Inbound links occur when website owners or users link to your website through social media posts, forums, etc., driving even more traffic to your website and increasing your search engine ranking.

The key is to make your blog content insightful, engaging, and entertaining.

That’s why my service works. I’ll research any topic that you want on your blog. I’ll write the content in an engaging way that encourages interaction and shares. I’ll grow your blog’s readership over time, attracting new clients at a fraction of the cost of other forms of advertising.

Try it out and I’m sure you’ll be surprised by how many people are taking the time to read your blog and how many leads you’re generating as a result.

How Much Blogging?

Something is always better than nothing.

Statistically, companies that blog 11 or more times per month generate about four times as many leads as companies that only blog 4-5 times per month.

However, generating only four or five HIGH-QUALITY blog posts per month can be enough because of the power of social media. Once I’ve completed a blog article, you can share it on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram multiple times per week. Every time you put it out there, it compounds and leads to more views and shares.

One in ten blog posts is compounding. The key, of course, is that the articles must be well-written, informative, and unique.
